Samsung JS9500 SUHD TV 4k

This TV features LED display with impressive high quality picture and backlight. You get a wider color gamut for more true and realistic images, and in addition, low motion blur and input lag for better gaming performance. The design features curves with a stable stand that won’t wobble when the TV is moved.

The blacks could be deeper, but they are acceptable so it is a good set for watching movies, but it is not exceptional. One of its best features is HDR so bright objects are of great quality and local dimming along with 3D capability are nice additions that improvce the feature set of this 4k TV. The native contrast is rated as average, and the Black uniformity results in a bit poorer quality for dark scenes with some patchiness occurring. You do get a bit of crosstalk with the 3D, but again, it is good and within acceptable levels. There is no judder when watching Blu Ray movies but any movies over a 60 p or i source can result in a small amount of judder. You can use the Auto Motion Plus feature to remedy this. The color is rated as being very good with pre calibration and a wide gamut of colors for more realistic viewing. There is minimal motion blur which makes this TV good for gaming and viewing sports or action events. The response time is 15.6 ms which is fairly low. When playing in PC mode the input lag is 56.6 ms.

The bass at quieter volumes in excellent, but distortion occurs as the volume is turned up. The Smart platform includes motion and voice controls for easy navigation with 9.0 Smart TV and Tizen OS with major apps available. A smart romote is includes which is sueful as a curser pointer but does not havce a number pad on it. Side inputs with 3 USB, 4 HDMI, 1 digital optical audio out, 1 RF in, 1 3.5 mm audio out, 1ethernet, 1 component in and 1 composite in. Rear inputs include AC power and One Connect.

Final analysis

The LG 65EF9500 is one of the more affordable models, but the price tag is still a bit high coming in at around $2300.00. The OLED screen technology no doubt provides excellence in image quality. The Web 2.0 OS and all of the Smart TV features are plusses that add to the value of this TV for the cost. If you’re looking for a bargain with a lower price, then the Samsung SUHD JS9500 may be the direction that you want to take. In the end, you’ll sacrifice image quality for a savings of arond $1300.00. While the Samsung SUHD JS9500 is a lot less expensive and is an overall good basic 4k TV, it just doesn’t stand up to the quality and performance of the LG EF9500.
